This page explains what data is (or is not) collected when you use LightDoc.

Overview

LightDoc is a mobile app that compresses, crops, and converts documents (images, PDFs) directly on your device.

All processing happens locally on your phone. We do not create accounts, store your documents on external servers, or upload them to a proprietary backend.

1. Data we process

1.1 Files and documents

To work properly, LightDoc needs access to files you provide (photos, images, scanned documents, etc.). These files are:

  • Selected manually by you (gallery, files, camera).
  • Processed locally for compression, cropping, and/or PDF conversion.

These documents are never sent to a developer server. They stay on your device unless you decide to share them yourself.

1.2 Local technical data

The app may store some configuration data locally, such as:

  • Your compression quality preferences.
  • Your output format choice (JPG, PNG, PDF, etc.).
  • Your in-app purchase state (LightDoc Premium).
  • Information required for ads to function (see below).

These data are stored locally on the device and are not sent to the developer.

2. Advertising and advertising ID

The free version of LightDoc may display ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

2.1 Advertising ID (AD_ID)

On Android, Google may use your advertising ID to:

  • Show ads.
  • Measure ad campaign performance.
  • Prevent fraud and abuse.

You can reset this ID or limit ad personalization in your Android settings (Google > Ads).

2.2 Data collected by AdMob

As a third-party service, AdMob may collect technical data such as:

  • Advertising ID (AD_ID).
  • Device information (model, OS, language, etc.).
  • Usage data related to ad display.

3. In-app purchases (LightDoc Premium)

LightDoc offers a one-time Premium purchase that unlocks extra features (batch mode, PDF merge, ad removal, etc.).

Purchases are handled by the distribution platform (e.g. Google Play). We do not receive your payment details.

4. Data sharing

LightDoc does not sell your personal data and does not share it with third parties except services required to operate the app:

  • Google (AdMob) to display ads in the free version.
  • Google Play for in-app purchase management.

The documents you compress, crop, or convert stay on your device unless you explicitly share them.

5. Data retention

Files generated or modified by LightDoc (compressed images, PDFs, ZIP archives, etc.) are stored on your device.

You can delete these files at any time using your file manager or gallery.

Local preferences (quality, format, premium status) remain until you uninstall the app or clear its data.

6. Your rights

Depending on your country and applicable laws, you may have rights related to your personal data (access, correction, deletion, objection, etc.).

  • through your device settings (ads, identifiers, etc.).
  • through your Google account settings (Google Play, ads, etc.).

8. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app, third-party services, or legal requirements.
